{ <br /> or <br /> RESOLUTION 1I,, ?5V <br /> 1 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to <br /> execute the 1987-88 "Human Needs" contracts <br /> 3 totaling $55,692 <br /> 4 <br /> WHEREAS, the Human Needs Committee of the Everett City <br /> 5 Council has ascertained by study and interview that assisting <br /> the human service agencies listed below to help meet the <br /> 6 continuing or one-time needs of their various clients is a <br /> proper function of the City of Everett ; and <br /> 7 <br /> WHEREAS, the Human Needs Committee has voted to recommend <br /> 8 funding, as listed below, for these programs for 1987 City <br /> Budget allocation for Human Needs ; <br /> 9 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> 10 CITY OF EVERETT that the Mayor be authorized to execute a <br /> contract with each of the below-listed agencies in the amount <br /> 11 specified for the purpose stated: <br /> 12 1) Chemical Health Awareness Team, P.O. Box 7296 - $ 1 ,083.00 <br /> Training students and teachers to become <br /> 13 Natural Helpers <br /> 14 2) The Salvation Army, 2525 Rucker <br /> Food Bank - 2 ,944.00 <br /> 15 Emergency Lodging - 1 ,778 .00 <br /> 16 Rental Assistance - 1 , 722 .00 <br /> 17 3) Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Sno. Co. , 111 SE <br /> Everett Mall Way 744.00 <br /> Provide adult companionship and role model <br /> 18 to a child from a single parent home <br /> 19 4) Stop Abuse, 2731 10th St . - 2, 167 .00 <br /> 20 Provide services to members of violent <br /> families <br /> 21 5) Catholic Community Services/Snohomish County, <br /> 22 1410 Broadway - 3,991 .00 <br /> Provide chore service for elderly persons <br /> 23 who want to continue living on their own at <br /> home <br /> 24 6) Northwest Multi-Service Council , 2731 10th St. - 578.00 <br /> 25 Implement Teen-Line crisis phone center <br /> 26 7) Little Red School House , PO Box 992, Lynnwood - 722 .00 <br /> Provide early intervention education and <br /> 27 therapy to developmentally disabled children <br /> ages infant to three in Everett <br /> 28 8) Project Self-Sufficiency, 1316 Wall St. - 1 ,944.00 <br /> 29 Provide social services to low-income <br /> single parents who are highly motivated to <br /> 30 break the cycle of poverty <br /> 31 9) American Lung Association, 2625 Third Ave . , Sea - 361 .00 <br /> Start-up funds for pamphlet revision <br /> 32 10) Assoc . of Retarded Persons of Snohomish County, <br /> 2531 Wetmore - 3,778 .00 <br /> Money Management Program <br /> 11) American Diabetes Association, 2109 19th St. - 750.00 <br /> Medical Bank Program <br />
