RESOLUTION iia 7 7Z., <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting the relocation <br /> of the Museum of Sea & Ships to Everett <br /> WHEREAS, the Museum of Sea & Ships is an internationally <br /> renowned small museum, which is currently located at Pier 59 on the <br /> Seattle waterfront ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Museum is dedicated to the preservation of ancient <br /> and modern navigation instruments , ship models of living and <br /> forgotten ships , old time charts , nautical equipment and varied <br /> artifacts ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Museum has become a major attraction on the Seattle <br /> waterfront and is considering relocating at this point in time ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the location of the City of Everett , in light of its <br /> location to Port Gardner Bay and the Snohomish River, the likelihood <br /> of the Navy homeporting operation being located in Everett , the <br /> City' s maritime history, and its current maritime business and <br /> industry would favorably lend itself to providing a home for the <br /> Museum of Sea and Ships ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br /> of Everett that the City Council would welcome the relocation of the <br /> Museum of Sea and Ships to the City of Everett and would like the <br /> Museum of Sea and Ships to seriously consider relocating to the City <br /> of Everett . <br /> Webe) <br /> Councilmember introd cing <br /> resolution <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this / 7=4day of December, 1986 . <br /> CoCo cil resident <br />
