RESOLUTION NO.aZA.- A Resolution adopting a Comprehensive General Plan Map designation of "Hospital" for the east side of the 1200 block of Wetmore Avenue and also adopting specific policies related to hospital development within said block. WHEREAS, the City of Everett Planning Commission has, since 1984, been reviewing the Comprehensive General Plan residential land use map; and WHEREAS, during review of the residential land use map, the Planning Commission heard testimony from General Hospital requesting consideration of expanding hospital related uses into areas adjacent to the General Hospital campus; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission directed General Hospital to provide data and information relating for future development plans; and WHEREAS, property owners in the east side of the 1200 block of Wetmore Avenue asked the Planning Commission at a public hearing to designate said block for hospital use; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission heard testimony from other property owners in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Wetmore Avenue at several public hearings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1 . The City of Everett City Council accepts the Planning Commission recommendation and hereby approves the designation of "hospital" for the area bounded by 12th Street on the north, Wetmore Avenue on the west, 13th Street on the south, and the Everett Community College athletic field property on the east. 2. The City of Everett City Council hereby adopts Policies for Hospital Development in the 1200 block of Wetmore Avenue, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference. Said policies will serve as a guideline for the evaluation of development proposals within the block. 3. If plans for the development of hospital uses have not been submitted to the City of Everett Planning Department for consideration by the Land Use Hearing Examiner within three years of the date of adoption of this resolution, the City Council shall reconsider the land use designation of the east side of the 1200 block of Wetmore Avenue to determine whether the designation is still appropriate, in light of possible changes to long-term development plans of General Hospital.
