Large portions of the wall had been removed by the <br /> plumber and the wall was mostly unusable. It was determined that the wall was a non <br /> bearing wall as a result of determining that the upper and lower roof rafters, ceiling <br /> joists, and floor joist are spanning from north to south. The solution to stabilize the wall <br /> for drywall placement is to provide an additional 2x4 wall framed on either side of the <br /> aforementioned wall.
