RESOLUTION No. ?6 <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring Councilman Moe Michelson <br /> 1 WHEREAS, Moe Michelson (whether it ever occurred to him or not) <br /> 2 is a living example of the classic "American Dream" --- the immigrant's son <br /> become millionaire by his own good sense, great energy, and hard work -- and, <br /> 3 WHEREAS, in those growing years, Moe Michelson was also an <br /> 4 active and dedicated member of the Riverside Commercial Club (a group which <br /> 5 managed to move bridges and erect street lights, as well as sponsor dances <br /> and fund raisers) , and <br /> 6 WHEREAS, Moe Michelson in 1968 came out of five years of retire- <br /> 7 ment to win election to the Board of Freeholders which rewrote the Everett <br /> 8 City Charter, and <br /> WHEREAS, Moe Michelson then got himself elected to City Council <br /> 9 Position 2, and took office in Everett' s new form of government on <br /> 10 December 5, 1968, and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, in the seventeen years since, Councilman Moe Michelson <br /> has vigilantly, gleefully, and tenaciously guarded and helped direct the <br /> 12 growth of his hometown to a point where he now feels comfortable with trying <br /> 13 a second retirement, <br /> 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT that Monday, December 30, 1985 is hereby declared to be <br /> 15 <br /> MOE MICHELSON DAY <br /> 16 to express the City's appreciation of his generous service to our community <br /> 17 and to honor him for six decades fo tstanding itizenship.
