RESOLUTION No. Gj21 <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring the memory of Robert J. Warriner, Jr. <br /> 1 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding gifts <br /> 2 and talents of its citizens be recognized by the City of Everett, and <br /> WHEREAS, the wholehearted and happy giving of service and help <br /> 3 <br /> to others is one of the greatest (and least-often recognized) of human <br /> 4 talents, and <br /> 5 WHEREAS, Robert J. Warriner, Jr. was an eminent example of this <br /> talent, as evidenced by his 26 years with General Telephone in various <br /> 6 <br /> human-resources management positions, and his extra-curricular chairmanship <br /> 7 of the PIC (the Private Industry Council is the directing agency for some <br /> 8 $5 million for local job training programs for low income and unskilled <br /> persons from 16 to 60-plus. Bob's leadership, vision, and hours of <br /> 9 volunteer work over theast two <br /> p years were instrumental in guiding this <br /> 10 new agency to the point where about 2,000 people now receive training <br /> 11 annually, and about 1,300 of them find jobs. ) , <br /> 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett that it hereby extends its sincere respect and sympathy to the <br /> 13 familyof Bob Warriner, as well as its appreciation ppreciation of the benefits accruing <br /> 14 to our community from Bob's long career of friendly, encouraging, and <br /> 15 supportive service to others.
