RESOLUTION NO. 2619 A Resolution authorizing the demolition of a building situated at 2201 Oakes Ave. WHEREAS , the City of Everett Building Offical has found that the building which is located at 2201 Oakes Ave. is a substandard building pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found that the building which is located at 2201 Oakes Ave . is a dangerous building pursuant to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings ; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found that the Building Official issued an Order requiring the owners to repair or demolish the building; and WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the repairs or emolition have not taken place as was required in the Order ; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Order issued by the Building Official was properly served on the owners of the property in question; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official has the authority to recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform Housing code and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings ; and Whereas, the City Council finds that the owners have been given notice of this council meeting; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there has been no appeal of the Order issued by the Building Official and that the appeal period has expired; and WHEREAS , the City Council , upon due consideration, deems it in the best interest of the health , safety and welfare of the public that a resolution be adopted requiring the demolition of the building; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: Section 1 : That the building located at 2201 Oakes Ave. which is legally described as follows contains conditions which are substandard and may endanger the life, limb, health, property, safety and welfare of the public. Legal description: The west 60 ft . of Lots 1 and 2 , Blk . 476, Everett , as per plat recorded in Volume 3 of Plats, Page 32 , Records of Snohomish County. Section 2 : That the above described building is declared to be a substandard building as is defined in the Uniform Housing Code and a dangerous building as is defined in the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings .
