RESOLUTION NO. 2619 <br /> A Resolution authorizing the demolition of a <br /> building situated at 2201 Oakes Ave. <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Everett Building Offical has found <br /> that the building which is located at 2201 Oakes Ave. is a <br /> substandard building pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found <br /> that the building which is located at 2201 Oakes Ave . is a dangerous <br /> building pursuant to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous <br /> Buildings ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has found that the Building <br /> Official issued an Order requiring the owners to repair or demolish <br /> the building; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the repairs or <br /> emolition have not taken place as was required in the Order ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Order issued by <br /> the Building Official was properly served on the owners of the <br /> property in question; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official <br /> has the authority to recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform <br /> Housing code and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous <br /> Buildings ; and <br /> Whereas, the City Council finds that the owners have been <br /> given notice of this council meeting; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there has been no <br /> appeal of the Order issued by the Building Official and that the <br /> appeal period has expired; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council , upon due consideration, deems it <br /> in the best interest of the health , safety and welfare of the public <br /> that a resolution be adopted requiring the demolition of the <br /> building; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> Section 1 : That the building located at 2201 Oakes Ave. <br /> which is legally described as follows contains conditions which are <br /> substandard and may endanger the life, limb, health, property, <br /> safety and welfare of the public. <br /> Legal description: The west 60 ft . of Lots 1 and 2 , Blk . <br /> 476, Everett , as per plat recorded in Volume 3 of Plats, <br /> Page 32 , Records of Snohomish County. <br /> Section 2 : That the above described building is declared <br /> to be a substandard building as is defined in the Uniform Housing <br /> Code and a dangerous building as is defined in the Uniform Code for <br /> the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings . <br />
