RESOLUTION # 07O-93 A RESOLUTION Authorizing application to the Interagency Committee For Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance on an Outdoor Recreational Vehicle Planning project. WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council has approved the 1978 Comprehensive Open Space Park Plan and subsequent Recovery Action Plan which identify the need to provide various special recreation interests in the City; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the State Outdoor Recreational Vehicle Act, funding assistance has been authorized and been made available to finance the cost of planning, acquisition, development and operation of park land for Outdoor Recreational Vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council considers it in the best interest of the public to identify the needs of the Outdoor Recreational Vehicle users as well as their impact on the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Everett Parks and Recreation Board has recommended this project to the Mayor and City Council to better determine the community's recreational needs relevant to Outdoor Recreational Vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Everett City Council: 1. That the Director of Parks and Recreation be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee For Outdoor Recreation for an ORV Planning Grant. 2. That any funding received be used by the Parks and Recreation Department to study the needs of ORV users within the greater Everett area. 3. Funding provided by the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation will be 100% of the project. 4.
