RESOLUTION NO. . A RESOLUTION accepting the Riverside Neighborhood's recommendations for expenditure of approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds and a matching amount from the street overlay fund; specifying the improvements to be made; and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and Systens Ordinance for construction and project implementation in the Spring and Summer of 1985. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve public facilities and the livability of the Riverside area; and WHEREAS, on January 16, 1985, the City Council authorized approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the Riverside area as part of the City of Everett's 1985 Community Development Block Grant application; and WHEREAS, Mayor Bill Moore authorized $15,000 of matching funding for Community Development Block Grant funded street and sidewalk neighborhood improvements in the Riverside area; WHEREAS, on March 20, 1985, residents of the Riverside Neighborhood held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed projects; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that: I. The following projects as recommended by Riverside residents be implemented or constructed with the approximately $30,000 available through the Community Development Block Grant Program and matching funding available through the street overlay fund. A. Allocate $3,000 of CDBG funds for the publication of oral histories of the Riverside History Project. (Will not be matched.) B. Allocate $500 of CDBG funds for a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance for low income kids to attend summer school. (Will not be matched.) C. Allocate $19,000 in CDBG funds and matching funds for the replacement of hazardous sidewalks throughout the Riverside Neighborhood. (Please see attached list for location of sidewalks.) -1- 0808F
