piling designed for a Cooper E-80 loading according to the American Railway
Engineering and Maintenance Association (AREMA) Manual For Railway
Engineering. Damage to the railroad track or railroad facilities, due to the
Contractor's operations, will be repaired by the Railroad at the Contractor's
expense.

(******)
Based on the soil and ground water conditions at the western bridge abutment,
the Contractor shall anticipate the following:

1. The proposed excavation will extend below the ground water table at this
location. Therefore, a watertight cofferdam and a dewatering system is
required.

2. Obstructions could be encountered during installation of the temporary
shoring/cofferdam. Obstructions are anticipated to vary from buried logs to
large boulders. Pre-drilling or digging to facilitate driving of sheet piles or
other shoring/cofferdam elements may be necessary.

No separate payment will be made for removal of obstructions, as necessary
to install the shoring/cofferdam and excavate for the western bridge abutment
concrete shaft cap and seal.

Very dense glacially consolidated outwash soils are present below the historic
fill and Bay deposits in the vicinity of the western bridge abutment. Pre-drilling
or impact driving may be required to facilitate driving of sheet piles or other
shoring/cofferdam elements within the very dense glacially consolidated
outwash soils. No separate payment will be made for the time, materials and
equipment required to advance the sheet piles or other shoring/cofferdam
elements into the very dense glacially consolidated outwash soils, as
necessary to install the shoring/cofferdam shoring.

Driving sheet piles or other shoring/cofferdam elements into the very dense
glacially consolidated outwash soils could result in the contractor not being
able to remove the sheet piles or other shoring/cofferdam elements after
construction. No separate payment will be made to compensate the contractor
for the cost of sheet piles or other shoring/cofferdam elements that cannot be
removed and need to be abandoned in place.

Measurement

The third paragraph of Section 2-09.4 is replaced with the following:

(******)
For all pipes, pipe arches, structural plate pipes, and underpasses, the Structure
excavation quantity will be calculated based on the dimensions called out in the plans.

The subsection Lower Limits of Section 2-09.4 is supplemented with the following:

(January 4, 2010 WSDOT GSP)
Under girders, at end pier embankments, the lower limit will follow a line parallel to the
bottom of the girders and three feet below them.
CITY OF EVERETT
GRAND AVENUE PARK BRIDGE May 18,2017
WO#3588 S118
age 7
Provided to Builders Exchange of WA, Inc.
