RESOLUTION NO. ,,'? so ei <br /> A Resolution authorizing signing a memorandum <br /> of understanding with the Everett Housing Authority and <br /> the Department of Housing and Urban Development <br /> to participate in the 1985 Entitlement <br /> Rental Rehabilitation Program <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett recognized the need <br /> for certain housing and community development programs in Everett, and <br /> WHEREAS, funds for 12 Section 8 Existing or Voucher units have been <br /> made available, and it is estimated the annual value of that subsidy to local <br /> landlords and low income tenants will be approximately $60,000.00 each year <br /> for at least 15 years for the rental rehabilitation program. <br /> WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee for Housing and Community <br /> Development agreed that the Section 8 Existing/Voucher Program combined with <br /> rehabilitation assistance would help low and moderate income persons in <br /> Everett and will help reach goals stated in the City's Housing Assistance Plan. <br /> WHEREAS, the Rental Rehabilitation Program will implement the Housing <br /> Assistance Plan and the newly adopted Single Family Policies. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT THAT: <br /> 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign a Memorandum of Understanding <br /> with the Everett Housing Authority and the U. S. Department of Housing <br /> and Urban Development for the 1985 Entitlement Rental Rehabilitation <br /> Program. <br /> 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to submit an application to the <br /> Department of Housing and Urban Development for the 1985 Entitlement <br /> Rental Rehabilitation Program. <br /> 3. This Resolution will become part of the formal application to the U.
