1 RESOLUTION NO.c, /'a / 2 3 A RESOLUTION authorizing the demolition of a building at 2618 Grand Avenue. 4 5 WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found that 6 the building which is located at 2618 Grand Avenue is a substandard 7 'structure based upon the standards set forth in the 1979 Uniform Housing 8 Code; and 9 WHEREAS, the Building Official has found the building to 10 be dangerous pursuant to Section 302 of the 1979 Uniform Code for the 11 Abatement of Dangerous Buildings ; and 12 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official 13 issued an Order requiring the owners of the property to make the 14 necessary repairs or to demolish the building and clear the property; 15 and 16 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the required repairs 17 or demolition and clearing have not taken place as was required in 18 the Order which was duly served on the owners of the property; and 19 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official 20 has the authority to recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform 21 Housing Code; and 22 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owners of the pro- 23 perty have been given notice of this Council meeting; and 24 WHEREAS, the Everett City Council , upon due consideration, 25 deems it in the best interest of the public health, safety and welfare 26 that an Order be entered requiring the demolition and clearing of the building. 27 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: 29 Section 1 : The City of Everett Building Official is hereby 30 authorized to have the building at 2618 Grand Avenue, Everett, Washing- ton demolished. 31 32
