Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Page Number <br /> 27A Because it is necessary to provide safe and healthy places <br /> for people to live, the City should encourage and enforce <br /> minimum standards of existing residential structures, yards, <br /> and vacant lots; utilizing the following: <br /> 27A 1. Housing surveys, building inspections, code enforcement and <br /> rehabilitation of existing dwelling units should be the <br /> principal tools for correcting sub-standard housing <br /> conditions. <br /> 2. Enforce regulations regarding the storage of commercial <br /> vehicles, boats, automobiles and recreational vehicles on <br /> public right-of-ways. <br /> 28A 3. Achieve long-term maintenance and neighborhood stability <br /> through neighborhood clean-up programs, home maintenance <br /> publicity, home-fire prevention inspections, block-watch <br /> crime prevention, and capital improvement programs. <br /> Implementation: <br /> 1.
