Soil particle size distribution test was conducted on two soil
samples obtained from ihe outwash deposit to determine their infiltration rates.
Particle Size Distribution Tests and Estimated Infiltration Rates
Two soil samples, one from each of Test Pits 2 and 3, were obtained from the advance
outwash deposit and taken to HWA laboratory far Particle Size Distribution tests to
determine their infiltration rates. These soil samples are listed in the table belov and their
test reports are presented on Plates A-1 and A-2.
LIST OF SOIL SAMPLES
Sample Test Pit Depth Soil
No_ No. feet Description
1 2 7.5 — 8.5 Dark olive brown, silty SAND with gravel
2 3 3.0—4.0 Dark olive bron, poorly graded SAND vith silt
The percentages of clay, silt and sand/gravel of the soil samples determined from the
particle size distribution tests are summarized on Plate A-2.
