RESOLUTION NO. �.X�y <br /> A RESOLUTION establishing public meetings on the <br /> Navy base in the City of Everett prior to the <br /> November 6 , 1984 advisory ballot . <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Everett on May 2 , 1984 , <br /> approved that an advisory ballot be added to the November 6 , 1984 <br /> elections for the purpose of public input on the proposed Navy base <br /> in the City of Everett ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Section 3 of said ordinance provides that the City <br /> Council may determine to postpone said election if the Council <br /> determines that sufficient information is not available for the <br /> vote ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council wishes to establish a public <br /> information program concerning the Navy base in Everett prior to the <br /> November 6 , 1984 election ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT: <br /> Section 1 : The City/Navy Coordinator is hereby requested to <br /> compile information and conduct public meetings concerning the Navy <br /> base in Everett . <br /> Section 2 : Reasonable efforts will be made to assure maximum <br /> participation of the general public at meetings sponsored by the <br /> City, at which issues related to the Navy homeporting are discussed. <br /> Section 3 : The City/Navy Coordinator is requested to make <br /> available final reports concerning the various issues related to the <br /> Navy homeporting . Said final reports and comments will be available <br /> to the public by the Coordinator and through the Everett Public <br /> Library. All documents submitted at a public meeting as provided <br /> herein shall be considered final documents for public disclosure. <br /> All other City documents shall be considered working memoranda not <br /> subject to public disclosure. <br /> Section 4 : On September 5 , 1984 , the City/Navy Coordinator <br /> shall report to City Council concerning what has been accomplished <br /> in public information dissemination concerning the Navy homeporting <br /> in Everett , and the City Council shall then make a decision as to <br /> whether the advisory ballot should be postponed or set on the ballot <br /> for the November 6 , 1984 election. <br /> Section 5 : Attendance by City Council members at any public <br /> meeting shall be for informational purposes , and not for the purpose <br /> of making a final decision over any matter over which City Council <br /> may have jurisdiction. <br /> L4 L 2i <br /> Counci man ' Introducing <br /> Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this day of , 1984. <br /> 111 <br /> �.`r.. ..I/,7 • <br /> • �F� i 'resile t <br />
