RESOLUTION NO. ,;?.4M9 <br /> A Resolution accepting the Northeast <br /> neighborhood's recommendations for <br /> expenditure of approximately $30,000 <br /> of Community Development Block Grant <br /> funds and a matching amount from the <br /> street overlay fund; specifying the <br /> improvements to be made; and authorizing <br /> the preparation of a Plans and Systems <br /> Ordinance for construction and project <br /> implementation in the Spring and <br /> Summer of 1984. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve public <br /> facilities and the livability of the Northeast area; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 18, 1984, the City Council authorized approximately <br /> $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the <br /> Northeast area as part of the City of Everett's 1984 Community Development <br /> Block Grant application; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 19, 1984, Mayor William Moore authorized matching <br /> funding for Community Development Block Grant funded street and sidewalk <br /> neighborhood improvements in the Northeast area; <br /> WHEREAS, on March 20, 1984, residents of the Northeast neighborhood <br /> held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed <br /> projects; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett that: <br /> I. The following project as recommended by Northeast residents, be <br /> implemented or constructed with the approximately $60,000 available <br /> through the Community Development Block Grant Program and matching <br /> funding available through the steet overlay fund. <br /> A. 1000 Block of Maple Construct curbs, gutters, sidewalks, <br /> drainage and street overlay. <br /> II. The Mayor be instructed to have a Plans and Systems Ordinance prepared <br /> and presented to the City Council which will officially authorize and <br /> fund the development of contract plans, specifications, and detailed <br /> cost estimates for the improvements listed above. <br /> III. Should costs be less for the above projects than was originally <br /> estimated, projects receiving the next highest priority shall be <br /> initiated.
