RESOLUTION NO.oI171/6 <br /> A RESOLUTION accepting the Riverside Neighborhood's recommendations for <br /> expenditure of approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant <br /> funds and a matching amount from the street overlay fund; specifying the <br /> improvements to be made, and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and <br /> Systems Ordinance for construction and project implementation in the Spring <br /> and Summer of 1984. <br /> WHEREAS, THE City Council has recognized the need to improve public <br /> facilities and livability of the Riverside area; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 18, 1984, the City Council authorized approximately <br /> $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the <br /> Riverside area as part of the City of Everett's 1984 Community Development � <br /> Block Grant application; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 19, 1984, Mayor Bill Moore authorized $30,000 of <br /> matching funding for Community Development Block Grant funded street and <br /> sidewalk neighborhood improvements in the Riverside area; <br /> WHEREAS, on March 21, 1984, residents of the Riverside Neighborhood <br /> held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed <br /> projects; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett that: <br /> I. The following projects as recommended by Riverside residents be <br /> implemented or constructed with the approximately $30,000 available <br /> through the Community Development Block Grant program and matching <br /> funding available through the street overlay fund. <br /> A. Allocate $3,000 of CDBG funds for a local history of Riverside <br /> Project. <br /> B. Allocate $54,000 in CDBG funds and matching funds for the <br /> replacement of hazardous sidewalks throughout the Riverside <br /> Neighborhood. (Please see attached list for location of <br /> sidewalks.) <br /> II. The Mayor is instructed to have a Plans and Systems ordinance prepared <br /> and presented to the City Council which will officially authorize and <br /> fund the development of contract plans, specifications, and detailed <br /> cost estimates for the improvements listed above. <br /> III. Should costs be less for the above projects than was originally <br /> estimated, projects receiving the next highest priority shall be <br /> initiated.
