RESOLUTION N0. � 3174f <br /> A RESOLUTION approving 1984 annual Housing <br /> Assistance Plan for submission to the Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Devlopment under the Housing <br /> and Community Development Act of 1980. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett recognizes the need to <br /> plan for housing assistance programs in Everett, and <br /> WHEREAS, a Housing Assistance Plan is a required part of the City of <br /> Everett's application for Community Development Block Grant funds, and <br /> WHEREAS, the major provisions of the plan to satisfy the above need <br /> include: <br /> 1. The Housing conditions, the housing assistance needs, and the location <br /> for additional subsidized housing as identified by the Citizen Advisory <br /> Committee for Housing and Community Development and submitted to the <br /> City Council, <br /> 2. The priority for assisted housing includes: <br /> First priority shall be given to Section 8 existing for small families. <br /> Second priority shall be give, to Section 8 existing for elderly and <br /> large family. <br /> Third priority shall be given to the demonstration rehabilitation <br /> program. <br /> 3. The City will continue its commitment over the next three years to the <br /> Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) and will continue to have <br /> CHIP to work with Minor Home Repair to provide Minor Home Repairs. <br /> 4. The City will also continue its commitment to the Joint Venture for <br /> Affordable Housing as demonstrated by Resolution No, 2231 which the <br /> City Council unanimously approved. <br /> WHEREAS, federal housing assistance resources are allocated to Everett <br /> based on the provisions of the Housing Assistance Plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett considers it in the <br /> best interest of the public to implement the above Housing Assistance Plan, and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT, that: <br /> 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to include the Housing Assistance Plan <br /> as part of formal application for funding assistance to the Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Development. <br /> 2. Any federal subslidized housing funds allocated to the community be in <br /> accordance with the provisions of the Housing Assistance Plan; <br /> 3.
