Staff subsequently contacted the original manufacturer of the park's playground equipment <br /> (which was installed in 1998), along with other playground manufacturers to obtain quotes. The selected <br /> manufacturer will remove the existing destroyed equipment and fall-protection system,then install updated <br /> play equipment and engineered wood chips for fall protection. <br /> The detailed scope for the project includes two primary tasks: 1)demolition,removal and disposal of the <br /> destroyed equipment and fall-protection system; and 2) acquisition,manufacture, delivery and installation of <br /> replacement play equipment and fall protection. The estimated cost for this project is $175,000.00. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"American Legion Memorial Park <br /> Playground,"Fund 354,Program 050,for the replacement of certain park playground equipment destroyed <br /> by the February, 2017 fire. <br /> 5 <br />
