MIMIC WORKS
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION
g zo1 - ooh
DATE: November 8, 2011
PROJECT: Proposed Delivery Center
3003 West Casino Road
Everett, WA
SUBJECT: Aircraft Loading Walkways of Steel and Glass Construction
ACTION: The proposal presented by Boeing as an alternate method of compliance
to include glazing in the loading walkways of the Delivery Center is
accepted.
FINDINGS:
• The discussion regarding the basis of acceptance is fully laid out in the proposal
prepared by Brian Bailey, Boeing FM. Discussions included Boeing, the fire marshal's
office and building official's office.
• The walkways are not designed to serve the general public—this structure does not
serve as a passenger airport.
• The greatest issue leading to the NFPA 415 requirement is the possibility of public
panic from a fuel fire (most likely during refueling). The conditions leading to such a
panic are not present at this location due to the fueling procedures for these planes and
that there is no public.
Building Cgicial
ENGINEERING/PUBLIC SERVICES DIVISION o 3200 Cedar Street a Everett,WA 98201 0 (425)257-8800< Fax(425)257-8856
