RESOLUTION NO. y-3/7.--- <br /> A <br /> 3/ —A RESOLUTION rescinding a previously authorized <br /> 75% Annexation petition for the area generally <br /> lying east and west of 18th Avenue W. <br /> and north of 100th Street S.W. <br /> WHEREAS, on May 4, 1983, the Everett City Council did authorize i <br /> petition <br /> seventy-five (75) percent/of the assessed valuation of all property within the <br /> (i.roposed annexation areas, and <br /> WHEREAS, the previously authorized annexation petition is outlined on <br /> the map accompanying this Resolution (see Attachment "A"); and <br /> WHEREAS, two (2) community meetings were held by City staff on April 15 0 <br /> -lid May 23, 1983, with property owners to discuss the annexation and answer <br /> questons; and <br /> WHEREAS, an informal poll of property owners in attendance at the <br /> .eetings asking if they are supporting annexation to the City of Everett <br /> resulted in evidence that a critical proportion of property owners within the <br /> uthority of annexation boundaries oppose annexation; and <br /> WHEREAS, several property owners in the area do desire to annex to the <br /> City of Everett, provided the boundaries are changed; and <br /> WHEREAS, that under the laws of the State of Washington, RCW 35.13.175, <br /> after filing of any petition for annexation with the City Council, and pending <br /> its final disposition, no other petition for annexation which embraces any of <br /> the territory included therein shall be acted upon by the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> The Everett City Council hereby rescinds the authorization for circulation of <br /> the petition requesting signatures of owners of seventy-five (75) percent of <br /> the assessed valuation of all property identified before City Council at their <br /> regular public meeting on May 4, 1983.
