RESOLUTION NO. y-3/7.--- A 3/ —A RESOLUTION rescinding a previously authorized 75% Annexation petition for the area generally lying east and west of 18th Avenue W. and north of 100th Street S.W. WHEREAS, on May 4, 1983, the Everett City Council did authorize i petition seventy-five (75) percent/of the assessed valuation of all property within the (i.roposed annexation areas, and WHEREAS, the previously authorized annexation petition is outlined on the map accompanying this Resolution (see Attachment "A"); and WHEREAS, two (2) community meetings were held by City staff on April 15 0 -lid May 23, 1983, with property owners to discuss the annexation and answer questons; and WHEREAS, an informal poll of property owners in attendance at the .eetings asking if they are supporting annexation to the City of Everett resulted in evidence that a critical proportion of property owners within the uthority of annexation boundaries oppose annexation; and WHEREAS, several property owners in the area do desire to annex to the City of Everett, provided the boundaries are changed; and WHEREAS, that under the laws of the State of Washington, RCW 35.13.175, after filing of any petition for annexation with the City Council, and pending its final disposition, no other petition for annexation which embraces any of the territory included therein shall be acted upon by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Everett City Council hereby rescinds the authorization for circulation of the petition requesting signatures of owners of seventy-five (75) percent of the assessed valuation of all property identified before City Council at their regular public meeting on May 4, 1983.
