RESOLUTION NO. o7,--7,$f <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF INSTALLING <br /> TWO PHYSICAL FITNESS GAMEFIELDS AT LEGION AND SILVER <br /> LAKE PARKS AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br /> ENTER INTO NECESSARY AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE GENERAL <br /> HOSPITAL FOUNDATION AND THE WELLS FARGO BANK TO <br /> COOPERATIVELY FUND THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION <br /> OF THE GAMEFIELDS AND FURTHER TO APPROPRIATE $5,600 <br /> FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND TO PAY FOR THE <br /> CITY'S MATCH. <br /> WHEREAS, The Everett City Council approves the concept of installing two Physical <br /> Fitness Gamefields to be located at Legion Park and at Silver Lake Park for recreational <br /> .. se by the citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Everett City Council approves the concept of entering into a <br /> oint agreement with the General Hospital Foundation to apply for grant monies from <br /> the Wells Fargo Bank to assist in the acquisition and installation of these Physical Fit- <br /> ness Gamefields; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Everett City Council acknowledges the need for an additional <br /> appropriation of $5,600 from the Council Contingency to match the General Hospital <br /> Foundation monies and Wells Fargo Bank grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Everett City Council understands the City of Everett Parks and <br /> Recreation Department will provide the labor for installation and assume the on-going <br /> maintenance of these two units; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Everett City Council acknowledges the recommendation of the <br /> City of Everett Parks and Recreation Board recommending approval of this project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT that the actions taken by the City Council are to: <br /> 1. Appropriate $5,600 from the Council Contingency Fund, $3,200 for acqui- <br /> sition and $2,400 for installaton for Physical Fitness Gamefields to be <br /> located at Legion and Silver Lake Parks. <br /> 2. Authorize the Mayor to enter into the necessary agreements between the <br /> General Hospital Foundation and the City to jointly apply for a grant from <br /> the Wells Fargo Bank for the acquisition and installation of the two Physi- <br /> cal Fitness Gamefields with the General Hospital Foundation providing <br /> $5,300 in matching money. <br /> 3. Authorize the Mayor to enter into necessary agreements with Wells Fargo <br /> Bank to receive $5,000 in grant monies for the acquisition of the two Game- <br /> fields. <br /> 4. Acknowledge that the total project cost will be $15,900; $5,000 Wells Fargo <br /> Bank, $5,300 General Hospital Foundation, $5,600 City of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City has officially obligated <br /> funding sources to meet the necessary grant match by using Council Contingency Funds <br /> and by joining with the Everett General Hospital Health Care Foundation in joint appli- <br /> cation to the Wells Fargo Bank for acquisition of two Physical Fitness Gamefields as <br /> outlined herein. - <br /> ri 11(,_ /(CP X/�• <br /> Councilman Introducing Resolution <br /> Cou i President <br /> Mayor <br /> City Clerk <br /> •-sse�: <br /> A••r. ed: <br />
