5 <br /> Bank Charter <br /> After a year of planning, the new Bank of Everett was chartered on June 27, 1962. Governor <br /> Albert Rosellini presented the charter in his office in Olympia. There were over 300 <br /> stockholders, all from Snohomish County, who raised $900,000 for the charter. Officers <br /> included William D. Carpenter of Eclipse Lumber Co., Clarence J. Coleman, Lewis A. Chartered June 27, 1962. <br /> Temporary bank building at 2724 Wetmore <br /> The new bank opened, after a grand ceremony, in a temporary building at 2724 Wetmore <br /> Avenue. The grand celebration was held on June 11, 1962 and was attended by Governor <br /> Rosellini, Mayor George Gebert and many other dignitaries. The temporary building was <br /> intended to give an old-fashioned atmosphere as a hometown bank. It had a false front style, <br /> antique lettering, old roll top desks and fixtures, and other antiques on display. The bank gave <br /> away a tandem bicycle and US savings bonds as prizes. An antique auto parade left the bank <br /> after the opening ceremony. <br />
