These issues have increased since the November 2015 windstorm damaged <br /> landscape materials that retained some surface water on the border between the park and the backyards of <br /> homes on Alverson Blvd. <br /> This project will modify the slope of the City property,install short retaining walls and install approximately <br /> 750 linear feet of fencing above the retaining walls. Parks staff have solicited input and discussed this <br /> project with impacted neighbors. Members of the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens Board and Parks staff <br /> are meeting with bordering residents in later March 2017 to discuss in more detail the border design and <br /> Arboretum landscaping layout. <br /> The project will be performed through the City's Job Order Contracting(JOC)process. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"American Legion Memorial Park- <br /> Arboretum Area Tmprovements"Fund 354,Program 051,for the renovation of drainage areas and surface <br /> improvements to the western border of the Arboretum)asa.of the park. <br />
