RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION changing the future allocation of $750 , 000 originally allocated as a capital con- tribution to the Snohomish County Jail. WHEREAS, the City, in June, 1982 , allocated $1 ,500, 000 as a capital contribution to Snohomish County for improvements of its new jail facilities; and WHEREAS, subsequently to the allocation of these funds, the City and County have jointly negotiated and signed a contract setting the method for calculated jail fees for ten years; and WHEREAS, the negotiated contract specifies a method for cal- culating jail fees that will result in costs greatly increased over the present fees; WHEREAS , the City, in recognition of the higher fees, wishes to reconsider its original allocation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT: That the City allocates $750 , 000 to Snohomish County as a capi- tal contribution for improvements to its new jail; That the City pay $500 , 000 as soon as possible following the adoption of this resolution in conformance with the provisions of the 1983 Budget Ordinance; That the City pay, during 1983 , $83 , 333 each two month period on or about April 1, June 1 and August 1, in the total amount of $250 , 000; That the City place into a reserve account, $250, 000 in 1983 for purposes as yet to be reviewed and considered by the Mayor and Council; That the City budget and place into a reserve account $500 , 000 in 1984 for purposes as yet to be reviewed and considered by the Mayor and Council. Interest earned on these reserved funds s all accrue to the benefit of this account and w:ill, b- a..r.. iated i the same manner as the principal.
