RESOLUTION NO. a / !a <br /> A RESOLUTION to adopt the Snohomish County <br /> Solid Waste Management Study. <br /> WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Recovery and Recycling <br /> Act, contained in Chapter 70. 95 RCW, requires all cities and all <br /> counties in Washington to prepare and periodically update com- <br /> prehensive solid waste management plans; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has authority to collect and <br /> dispose of solid waste, per Chapter 35. 92 RCW; and <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County has authority to provide for dis- <br /> posal of solid waste, per Chapter 36. 58 RCW; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, contained in <br /> Chapter 39 . 34 RCW, permits any one or more public agencies to <br /> jointly perform any governmental service, activity or undertaking <br /> which each public agency entering into the agreement is authorized <br /> by law to perform; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Snohomish County may jointly <br /> prepare one Solid Waste Management Plan, per Chapter 70 . 95 . 080 RCW <br /> to satisfy the planning requirements of both jurisdictions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the public health, welfare, and safety of the <br /> residents of both the City of Everett and Snohomish County require <br /> the safe and efficient disposal of solid waste; and <br /> WHEREAS, the final disposal of solid waste from the City of <br /> Everett can be done efficiently within the Snohomish County solid <br /> waste management system of existing or planned facilities; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Everett City Council <br /> does hereby adopt the Snohomish County Solid Waste Management <br /> Study. <br /> 05-63 <br /> Councilman Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 17th day of November, 1982. <br /> ,A <br /> Council President <br />
