RESOLUTION NO.c:;:2/67 <br /> A ,RESOLUTION endorsing the Cardiac Surgery Program at Everett <br /> General Hospital and urging Health Systems Agency and DSHS <br /> approval. <br /> WHEREAS, no hospital north of Seattle has a cardiac surgery program in Western <br /> Washington; and <br /> WHEREAS, General Hospital of Everett plans to offer the residents of Snohomish <br /> County and the north Puget Sound region a cardiac surgery program of the highest <br /> quality to compliment the cardiac care which the hospital now provides; and <br /> WHEREAS, before cardiac surgery in Everett can become a reality, an <br /> application for a Certificate of Need must be approved by the state's Health Systems <br /> Agency (HSA) and the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS); and <br /> WHEREAS, in many situations where time is a factor, the outcome for Everett <br /> citizens who may be stricken with a heart attack can be improved by having a cardiac <br /> surgery unit in the City of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT, that the City of Everett supports, approves, endorses, and urges approval <br /> of a cardiac surgery program at Everett General Hospital in the City of Everett. <br /> 741. <br /> Cou c'-man Intro.ucifig Res. ution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this ,� day of �-� �, �� , 1982. <br /> Council President r <br /> r <br />
