EVERETT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />16. Support the operation of a Business Improvement Area (BIA), which can build and operate <br />parking structure(s). <br />17. Work with property owners to develop aesthetic improvements on private properties and <br />within the city rights-of-way along the major entry corridors into the downtown. <br />18. Encourage the development of more housing in and around the Central Business District. <br />C. Encourage the expansion of Everett Community College and the Washington State <br />University branch campus and create a subarea plan for this area showing expansion areas and <br />development goals/standards. <br />2. Maintain up to date information on Everett's demographic, employment, land use <br />inventory, housing stock, and utilities that will be useful to the public, potential employers, <br />developers and others involved in promoting economic development. <br />3. Maintain and expand the informational and educational resources available at the library <br />related to economic development, careers and job opportunities. <br />4. Encourage vocational training and technological education programs in the local school <br />district programs, the Applied Technology Center, Washington State University, and Everett <br />Community College. <br />5. Ensure that new development regulations are clear and concise, and are administered in a <br />timely manner.
