1 CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 111 <br /> Provide signs, barricades, lights and other warning devices in accordance with the <br /> I <br /> requirements of the "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" and they maintain 24- <br /> hours a day until the patching work is completed and ready for traffic. <br /> Complete subgrade compaction prior to the required patching. Compact subgrade to <br /> 1 95-percent as determined by the ASTM D2922 (nuclear method). <br /> 5-06.3(2) Cement Concrete Pavement <br /> After the Crushed Surfacing Top Course subgrade for the pavement has been <br /> I constructed and compacted to line and grade, the cement concrete pavement patch <br /> shall be placed and struck off to a thickness of one inch greater than the existing <br /> pavement or eight inch minimum thickness, whichever is greater. Perform all Work <br /> I accordance with Section 5-05 of the Standard Specifications, except as modified by <br /> these Special Provisions and Standard Drawing No. 316. <br /> Place through joints and dummy joints to match existing or as directed by the <br /> I Engineer. Finish and brush the surface of the concrete patch with a fiber brush. Place <br /> approved curing compound on the finished concrete immediately after finishing. <br /> 5-06.3(3) Cement Concrete Pavement Resurfaced with HMA <br /> 1 Patch streets having cement concrete pavements surfaced with HMA as shown on <br /> Standard Drawing No. 316. <br /> The thickness shall be one inch thicker than the existing concrete base or six inch, <br /> I whichever is greater. The top surface of the concrete patch shall match the top <br /> surface of the existing concrete base; in no case shall the top of the concrete be higher <br /> than the top of the existing concrete base. Brush finishing will not be required. Joints <br /> I shall be placed to match existing or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> HMA plant mix shall not be placed until three days after the cement concrete base has <br /> been placed or otherwise permitted by the Engineer. The HMA plant mix shall not be <br /> I placed until the concrete base has received a tack coat of CRS-2 at a rate of 0.12 to <br /> 0.20-gallons per square yard. The edges of the existing asphalt and castings shall <br /> also be painted with the tack coat. The HMA pavement shall then be placed, leveled, <br /> I and compacted to conform to the surface of the existing HMA. Immediately thereafter, <br /> all joints between the new and original asphalt pavement shall be painted with CSS-1 <br /> asphalt emulsion and covered with dry sand before the asphalt solidifies. <br /> I Asphalt shall be compacted to 92-percent of maximum density as determined by <br /> WSDOT Test Method 705. <br /> 5-06.3(4) HMA on Granular Base <br /> I After the Crushed Surfacing Top Course subgrade has been leveled and compacted, <br /> HMA CL 1/2", PG 64-22 shall be placed to a thickness of one inch greater than the <br /> existing asphalt pavement depth or to a minimum of three inches, whichever is greater. <br /> I Asphalt shall be compacted to 92-percent of maximum density as determined by <br /> WSDOT Test Method 705. <br /> 5-06.3(5) Untreated Roadway Surfaces <br /> I Existing crushed rock, gravel, and oil mat streets shall be restored with Crushed <br /> Surfacing Top Course to a compacted depth of four inches within the neat lines of the <br /> trench.
