4014: 1 RESOLUTION NO. a2O 8n 2 A RESOLUTION authorizing the demolition of a 3 building at 1812 Hoyt. 4 5 WHEREAS, the Building Official has found that the 6 building which is located at 1812 Hoyt is a substandard structure 7 based upon the standards set forth in the 1979 Uniform Housing 8 Code; and 9 WHEREAS, the Building Official issued an Order 10 requesting the owner of the property to make the necessary 11 repairs or to demolish the building; and 12 WHEREAS , the City Council finds the repairs or 13 demolition have not taken place as was required in the Order 14 which was duly served on the owner of the property; and 15 WHEREAS , the Building Official has the authority to 16 recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code; and 17 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owner ofthe 18 property has been given notice of this Council meeting; and 19 WHEREAS, the Everett City Council, upon due considera- 20 tion, deems it in the best interest of the public health, safety 21 and welfare that an Order be entered requiring the demolition 22 of this building. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: 24 Section 1. The City of Everett Building Official is 25 hereby authorized to have the building on the following des- 26 cribed property demolished: 27 1812 Hoyt, Everett, Washington 28 Legal description of the above described property which is situated in the County of Snohomish: 29 30 31 32
