Metro Everett is a diverse and large area,more than one square <br /> mile, and includes the downtown business district,Everett Station area,portions of the Broadway corridor, <br /> and surrounding commercial and residential areas. Planning for Metro Everett was a commitment the City <br /> made to complete a subarea plan for the center after the 2015 update of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> This briefmg will focus on recent work regarding: <br /> • Streetscape types based on the 2006 downtown plan to make the area more pedestrian friendly <br /> • Off-street parking that looks at new approaches to encourage less dependence on autos <br /> • Building heights which rethink the form of the metro area <br /> • Land use strategies which could streamline codes and create performance-based standards <br /> 11 <br />
