Streetscape Types How people interact with the built environment begins in large measure at the street level, either as a pedestrian,cyclist or motorist.There are three key factors which impact that interaction: building typology, building frontage,and public frontage/streetscape. Building typology concerns dimensionality and shape and is driven by context. For example, in a suburban residential area a large front yard, porch or stoop would be appropriate frontages,whereas in an urban core,a shop front,forecourt/plaza,or arcade would be appropriate frontages. Public frontage is the area between the curb of vehicular lanes and the property line.
