In the last several years,however,prosecutors have observed an increase in other drug related <br /> offenses,particularly those related to drug trafficking. This proposed ordinance expands the authority of <br /> municipal court judges to issue SODA orders to individuals charged or convicted of those other drug-related <br /> crimes, including: <br /> • Loitering for the purpose of engaging in drug-related activity <br /> • Criminal attempt of any Class C felony codified in the Uniform Controlled Substances Act <br /> • Any crime in which the court fords a nexus between the crime of conviction and drug activity <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an Ordinance Relating to Violation of Court Orders,Amending Ordinance No. 1145-85 as Amended <br /> (EMC 10.13.025). <br /> 23 <br />
