RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION establishing Prohibited Areas related to areas of drug trafficking. WHEREAS,on December 19, 2007,the Council enacted Ordinances related to Violations of Court Orders; and WHEREAS,the Ordinances require that Stay Out of Drug Areas ("SODA") orders set forth Prohibited Areas that have been established by a resolution of the City Council, at a minimum of every two years; and WHEREAS,the evolving nature of open air drug markets is such that certain areas of the City are currently not in the prohibited areas but are areas of drug trafficking; and WHEREAS,the areas must be updated every two years,the ordinance allows for more frequent updates to accurately reflect what is occurring within the City; and WHEREAS,the Ordinances require that the establishment of the Prohibited Areas be supported by information from the Police Department in the form of one or more declarations and/or other sworn testimony; and WHEREAS,the City Council has reviewed the declaration of Sergeant Jeff Hendrickson, and/or has heard other sworn testimony; NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT AS FOLLOWS: That the City Council adopts the attached recommendations for Prohibited Areas related to areas of drug and trafficking.
