Kirk Brooks
From: Kirk Brooks
Sent: Tuesday, August 25, 2015 3:29 PM
To: hris Raef'
Cc: Jane Zimmerman
Subject: RE: Our Saviors Lutheran Church site plan
Chris, below is the feedback I received from our drainage engineer. Please incorporate this information into your plot
plan and submit to me via email. The disconnect and how it will be done should be shown/detailed on the plan.
Additionally, indicate the square footage of the amount of roof area to be disconnected. Thanks, Kirk.
According to the information provided, this project will create more than 2,000 square feet of new plus replaced
impervious surface. Therefore, thE' project must comply with Minimum Technical Requirements#1-5 in the City's 2010
Stormwater Management Manual. In this particular case, the new roof is proposed to drain onto the existing roof,
which has a perimeter gutter system that connects to the underground drainage system. In order to meet the City's
stormwater management requirements for this project, portions of this existing perimeter gutter system must be
interrupted, and instead discharged to downspouts that daylight above ground. This disconnection from the
underground drainage system is required wherever feasible without causing erosion or flooding. At the very least, it
would appear feasible for the gutters along the south and east portion of the southern-most building to be disconnected
from the underground system—please see the map below.
Thank you,
Jane
Jane Zimmerman, Sr. Engineer
City of Everett Public Works Department
phone: 425-257-8885 fax: 425-257=8882
e-mail:izimmerman(Deverettwa.gov
1
