1 RESOLUTION NO. 1928 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION temporarily closing Colby Avenue between 24th Street <br /> 3 and 25th Street and directing City staff to work with the Everett <br /> School District and prepare an ordinance for the permanent closure <br /> 4 of Colby between 24th and 25th Streets. <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been attempting to address the potential traffic <br /> 6 <br /> conflicts between high school pedestrians and vehicles on Colby Avenue in the 2400 <br /> 7 <br /> block of Colby; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a temporary closure of Colby <br /> 9 <br /> Avenue in the 2400 block of Colby is an appropriate solution; <br /> 10 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> 11 <br /> OF EVERETT: <br /> 12 <br /> Section 1: From and after April 13, 1981, Colby Avenue shall be closed to <br /> 13 <br /> vehicular traffic between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, <br /> 14 <br /> during weeks that Everett High School is in session. This temporary closure is to be <br /> 15 <br /> implemented by the placement of barricades in the appropriate lanes of travel during <br /> 16 <br /> closure periods. This closure is temporary and to remain in existence until the City <br /> 17 <br /> Council reviews and acts upon an ordinance for the permanent closure of Colby Avenue <br /> 18 <br /> in the 2400 block. <br /> 19 <br /> Section 2: The City staff is directed to work with the Everett School District <br /> 20 <br /> to formulate a plan for the permanent closure of Colby Avenue in the 2400 block.
