The contractor installed
water mains and services, but may have made some changes in locadon due to conflicts with other
existing utilities.
The Snohomish County PUD No. 1 was granted an easement to install their electrical system and
procaded to install same. The Public Works Inspactor, Carroll Tollefson, stated that the power
line is three (3) feet or less in horizontal distance from the water main in the area between
buiidings 3 and 4.
The issue is twofold:
1) The easement to the City is eaclusivc.
2) Safety of the City's maintenance crew repairing an emergency break of the water system.
The City of Everett is requiring that the separation between the two utilities be 7h feet. This may
be accomplished by relaying the PUD system in the encroached areas, or roinstalling the water
systems in the encroachad areas. The City of Everott cannot accept the water system nor issue a
Certificate of Occupancy for this pmject undl this issue is resolved.
If you have any quesdons, please call me at (206)259-8977.
Sincerely,
C%Z
Alan E.
