RESOLUTION NO . /8(3 A RESOLUTION to enter into an agreement with METRO to purchase 15 transit shelters ( installed ) , and relocate 4 existing transit shelters as a change order to the existing METRO contract with Sun-up Construciton Co . , ( Bellevue , WA) . WHEREAS , the 1980 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP ) contained $60, 000 for transit shelter installation ; and WHEREAS , the 1981 Transportation Improvement Program ( TIP ) contained $100 , 000 for transit shelter installation and accessi - bility; and WHEREAS , it would be beneficial to combine the two programs under one project ; and WHEREAS , METRO is under contract with Sun-up Construction Co . for the installation of transit shelters ; and WHEREAS , the METRO bid was open and competitive , with four contractors submitting bids ; and WHEREAS , Sun-up Construction Co . was the low bidder on the METRO contract ( $1 , 436 , 350 . 00 ) and WHEREAS , Community Transit purchased 30 transit shelters ($245, 000 ) from Sun-up Construction Co . as a change order with the existing METRO contract ; and WHEREAS , Sun-up Construction Co . and Metro have both agreed to a possible change order with the City of Everett to purchase 15 transit shelters ( installed ) , and relocate 4 existing shelters as a change order to the existing METRO contract with Sun-up Const . Co , ; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT THE CITY OF EVERETT ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH METRO TO PURCHASE 15 TRANSIT SHELTERS ( INSTALLED ) , AND RELOCATE 4 EXISTING TRANSIT SHELTERS AS A CHANGE ORDER TO THE EXISTING METRO CONTRACT WITH SUN-UP CONSTRUCTION CO .
