• RESOLUTION NO. / ��'' <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing application for <br /> • funding assistance from the Urban Development Action <br /> Grant Program of the Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development to construct a Water Filtration <br /> Plant and a Low-Head Hydroelectric Plant in the <br /> Sultan Basin. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett recognizes the need <br /> to correct domestic water quality problems in the Sultan Basin, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett recognizes the need <br /> to ensure adequate electrical energy sources to meet the community's growing <br /> demands, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and Snohomish County Public Utility District <br /> No. 1 has been cooperating in the development of solutions to these problems, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these inter-related projects will impose an unacceptable financial <br /> burden on the Water System rate payers, and the Electrical Utility rate payers, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these projects may be eligible for partial funding from the Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Development's Urban Development Action Grant Program, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT THAT: <br /> 1. The MayorAEverett is hereby authorized to make formal application <br /> to the Urban Development Action Grant Program for funding assistance <br /> 2. Any funding assistance so received will be used for the above project, <br /> and <br /> 3.
