•
The counselor will assist in the search for appropriate and affordable housing, guiding
the client to housing that is a) in their price Lange, b) adequate to meet their needs as
a family, c) convenient to work, school and services, d) located in non-concentrated areas.
The Volunteer of America staff would be trained by the City's Block Grant staff to understand
the intent and purpose of the Bonus Block Grant Program, which is to give low income •
families a greater choice in housing and the ability to live in non-concentrated areas.
The program will be monitered to see how effectively it gives an opportunity for low-
income families to move from concentrated areas to non-concentrated areas. The number
of families served, locations, and results of the program will be reported. The priority
of the funding will be for low-income families living in concentrated areas moving to
non-concentrated areas. The program will be coordinated with the Everett Housing Author-
ities Section 8, Existing Program.
ANTICIPATED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
-The accomplishments are perceived to be a greater opportunity of housing choice for
low-income families living in areas of concentr.ation to non-concentrated areas. This
will be accomplished by taking part of the financial barrier away to achieve increased
mobility. The program is also perceived as supporting increased utilization of the Section
8 Existing Certificate program administered by the Everett Housing Authority.
The proposed program is consistent with the 1979 CDBG Housing and Community Develop-
ment Plan and Housing Assistance Plan.
TIME FRAME FOR IMPLEMENTATION
1.
