REOLUTION NO. /SYS' <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement: <br /> creating the Puget Sound Cities Interlocal Insurance Authority. <br /> WHEREAS, the cost, availability and adequacy of insurance coverage is a <br /> major concern to the City of Everett, and; <br /> WHEREAS, joining togetherwith other cities for joint self-insurance pooling <br /> is an alternative to conventional insurance purchase and claim procedures, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Association of Washington Cities contracted with a risk <br /> management Consultant firm, Warren, McVeigh and Griffin, to perform a study on the <br /> feasbility of municipal insurance pooling for interested Washington cities including <br /> the City of Everett, and; <br /> WHEREAS, a proposal was completed which showed that a pooling program <br /> was feasible and would result in insurance savings and cost control for member cities, <br /> and; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett would benefit from its participation in such <br /> a pool in the improvement of its Risk Management Program, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett and other municipalities interested in the <br /> pool must sign the Interlocal Agreement to initiate the pool implementation process. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> 1. The Mayor is authorized to sign the Interlocal Agreement: creating the <br /> Puget Sound Citites Interlocal Insurance Authority; and <br /> 2.
