RESOLUTION NO. /, A RESOLUTION accepting the Port Gardner Neighborhood Organization's, the Greater Riverside Organization's and the Northeast Everett Organization's recommendations for expenditure of $50,000.00 ($16,666.66 per neighborhood) of Community Development Block Grant funds; specifying the type of improvements to be made and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and Systems Ordinance. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve Port Gardner, Riverside and Northeast Everett neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the City Council has allocated from the 1980 Block Grant fund $50,000.00 to make the needed improvements and to be equally divided between Port Gardner, Riverside, and Northeast Everett neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the Port Gardner, Riverside, and Northeast Everett Neighborhood residents were asked to suggest improvements and then specify their priorities for the expenditure of Block Grant funds; and WHEREAS, numerous neighborhood meetings have been held, and the following neighborhood-wide meetings where residents voted were held in each neighborhood on the improvement projects to be recommended to City Council. -March 27, 1980, in Port Gardner -June 17 and 18, 1980, in Northeast Everett -June 30, 1980, in Riverside. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett, that: 1. The following improvement projects with the above mentioned funds as recommended by the Port Gardner Neighborhood residents (in order of residents' priority): a. Help from the Council for a Greater Everett with neighborhood organizing. ($875.00) b. Self Help Home Insulation Program for low and moderate income Port Gardner residents. ($5,000.00) c. Allocation of funds to help complete 1979 Block Grant funded Neighborhood Improvement Phase II in Port Gardner. ($10,791.66) 2. The following improvement projects with the above mentioned funds as recommended by Northeast Everett residents (in order of residents' priority). a. Youth Recreation Program for children in Northeast Everett. ($12,000.00) b. Help from the Council for a Greater Everett with neighborhood organizing. ($875.00) c. Create a larger bus shelter and provide more seating at Baker View Apartments and relocate the existing bus shelter to another location on the Everett Housing Authority property. This project will be accomplished with the Housing Authority's cooperation. ($1,800.00) d. Install playground equipment in Riverdale Park. ($1,991.66)
