RESOLUTION NO. /, <br /> A RESOLUTION accepting the Port Gardner Neighborhood <br /> Organization's, the Greater Riverside Organization's and <br /> the Northeast Everett Organization's recommendations for <br /> expenditure of $50,000.00 ($16,666.66 per neighborhood) of <br /> Community Development Block Grant funds; specifying <br /> the type of improvements to be made and authorizing the <br /> preparation of a Plans and Systems Ordinance. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve Port Gardner, <br /> Riverside and Northeast Everett neighborhoods; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has allocated from the 1980 Block Grant fund <br /> $50,000.00 to make the needed improvements and to be equally divided between <br /> Port Gardner, Riverside, and Northeast Everett neighborhoods; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Port Gardner, Riverside, and Northeast Everett Neighborhood <br /> residents were asked to suggest improvements and then specify their priorities <br /> for the expenditure of Block Grant funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, numerous neighborhood meetings have been held, and the following <br /> neighborhood-wide meetings where residents voted were held in each neighborhood <br /> on the improvement projects to be recommended to City Council. <br /> -March 27, 1980, in Port Gardner <br /> -June 17 and 18, 1980, in Northeast Everett <br /> -June 30, 1980, in Riverside. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett, <br /> that: <br /> 1. The following improvement projects with the above mentioned funds <br /> as recommended by the Port Gardner Neighborhood residents (in <br /> order of residents' priority): <br /> a. Help from the Council for a Greater Everett with neighborhood <br /> organizing. ($875.00) <br /> b. Self Help Home Insulation Program for low and moderate income <br /> Port Gardner residents. ($5,000.00) <br /> c. Allocation of funds to help complete 1979 Block Grant funded <br /> Neighborhood Improvement Phase II in Port Gardner. ($10,791.66) <br /> 2. The following improvement projects with the above mentioned funds <br /> as recommended by Northeast Everett residents (in order of residents' <br /> priority). <br /> a. Youth Recreation Program for children in Northeast Everett. <br /> ($12,000.00) <br /> b. Help from the Council for a Greater Everett with neighborhood <br /> organizing. ($875.00) <br /> c. Create a larger bus shelter and provide more seating at Baker <br /> View Apartments and relocate the existing bus shelter to another <br /> location on the Everett Housing Authority property. This project <br /> will be accomplished with the Housing Authority's cooperation. <br /> ($1,800.00) <br /> d. Install playground equipment in Riverdale Park. ($1,991.66) <br />
