Y <br /> RESOLUTION NO. /70.?? <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to submit to <br /> the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service, <br /> a Development Plan for a Sports Complex on the former <br /> 1 Federal surplus property which was conveyed by quit <br /> claim deed from the United States to the City of Everett <br /> 2 for use as a public Park and Recreation area adjacent <br /> to Walter E. Hall Golf Course and Park. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Everett has authorized and approved <br /> that a Development Master Plan be completed to comply with requirements by <br /> 5 Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service in order for the City of Everett <br /> to retain the 60-acre park site which was surplussed to the City as of June 30, 1972. <br /> 6 <br /> WHEREAS, under the direction of the Mayor and City Council, an Ad Hoc Steering <br /> 7 Committee was appointed to assist the City, the Parks and Recreation Board <br /> and staff in developing a Master Plan; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, Wilsey & Ham, Inc., was employed to design the Development Master <br /> 9 Plan providing the necessary requirements, needs, and use of the 60-acre park; <br /> and <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Parks and Recreation Board, the Ad Hoc Steering Committee, <br /> 11 and the City Council of the City of Everett considers it in the best public interest <br /> to make improvements in the regional 60-acre park in order to comply with the <br /> 12 original grant application, generally (coated in the southwest portion of the city, V <br /> west of Walter E. Hall Park, and south of Casino Road, and east of Airport Way; <br /> 13 <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> 14 OF EVERETT: <br /> 15 I. That the Mayor be authorized to make formal submittal to the Heritage <br /> Conservation and Recreation Service that the City of Everett is complying to <br /> 16 provide a Development Master Plan for the 60-acre park; <br /> 17 2. That the City of Everett is exploring the possibilities of financing the <br /> development of the 60-acre park, located in the southwestern portion of Everett, <br /> 18 Washington; <br /> 19 3. That the City will submit to Heritage Conservation and Recreation <br /> Service by February 15, 1980, the commitment of a development schedule to be <br /> 20 in compliance as outlined in the original grant application, and <br /> 21 4.
