4 --� <br /> J _ <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the levying of the general taxes for the City of Everett for <br /> fiscal year commencing January 1,2016,amending Ordinance No. 3453-15 • <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Everett adopted Ordinance 0453-15 on October <br /> 21, 2015, levying general taxes for the City of Everett for fiscal year commencing January 1, <br /> 2016; and <br /> • WHEREAS,information was subsequently received indicating that the new construction and <br /> refund levy estimates were insufficient for the 2016 levy; and <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS,in order to levy the total amount available,the new construction and refund levy <br /> estimates in the ordinance must be revised; <br /> • <br /> • <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 1 or Ordinance No. 3453-15,which reads as follows: <br /> REGULAR PROPERTY TAX LEVY <br /> • The Everett City Council hereby authorizes the property tax levy for collection <br /> in the year 2016 at$34,769,177 (including a$344,249 increase in dollar amount, <br /> which is a 1% increase over the amount of taxes Iawfull_y levied by the City in <br /> 2015), plus an estimated $700,000 from new construction, improvements to. <br /> property, annexations, and changes in state-assessed property, and$200,000 <br /> resulting from a refund levy, for a total of$35,669,1.77. <br /> • <br /> EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br /> • The Everett City Council hereby authorizes the property tax levy for collection <br /> in the year 2016 at$6,300,307(including a$62,379 increase in dollar amount, <br /> • which is a 1%increase over the amount of taxes lawfully levied by the City in <br /> 2015. Added to the base will be an estimated$200,000 from new construction, <br /> improvements to property, annexations; and changes instate-assessed property, <br /> and $100,000 resulting from a refund levy, for a total of$6,600,307. <br /> BE AND.THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 12 <br />
