4 <br /> 7 <br /> 10.Extending the Multiple Family Property Tax Exemption program until January 1,2019, <br /> would give the City the opportunity to consider possible revisions to the regulations <br /> based on recommendations from the Metro Everett Subarea planning process while the <br /> regulations would still be in effect <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council concludes the following: <br /> 1. The Multiple Family Property Tax Exemption program has been a valuable tool for the <br /> development of housing in targeted growth areas. <br /> 2. The planning process for the Metro Everett subarea will provide an opportunity for the <br /> City Council to consider refinements to the program in 2018. <br /> 3. It is in the best interests of the Everett community to extend the termination of the <br /> program until January 1, 2019. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 16 of Ordinance No. 2347-98, as amended,which reads as follows: <br /> As of January 1,2018,no applications shall be accepted for the tax exemption provided for <br /> under the provisions of this chapter. This chapter shall apply only to those properties whose <br /> owners have applications fully completed in accordance with this chapter on file before January <br /> 1, 2018. <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> As of January 1, 2018 2019,no applications shall be accepted for the tax exemption provided for <br /> under the provisions of this chapter. This chapter shall apply only to those properties whose <br /> owners have applications fully completed in accordance with this chapter on file before January <br /> 1,204-8 2019. <br /> Section 2. Severability. Should any section,paragraph, clause or phrase of this Ordinance, <br /> or its application to any person or circumstance,be declared unconstitutional or otherwise invalid <br /> for any reason, or should any portion of this Ordinance be pre-empted by state or federal law or <br /> regulations,this shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance or its <br /> application to other persons or circumstances. <br /> Section 3. Conflict. In the event there is a conflict between the provisions of this Ordinance <br /> and any other City ordinance,the provisions of this Ordinance shall control. <br /> 2 <br /> 9 <br />
