Parking usually occurs in areas where there is no curb or <br /> sidewalk and the area is not otherwise improved. Here is one example: <br /> 1 f } <br /> • <br /> 'rl o <br /> Currently,parking in a planting strip is prohibited. This proposed ordinance amends the parking code to <br /> exclude from the definition of"planting strip"the areas that residents have historically used for parking. <br /> Thus,the parking code will allow parking in areas of the right-of-way between the curb of the road and the <br /> property line when there is no constructed curb or constructed sidewalk, and the revision will reflect current <br /> parking practices. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an Ordinance Relating to Parking,Amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2180-96 as Amended(EMC <br /> 46.28.020). 31 <br />
