P110LIC WORKS
May 25, 2011 W(b lb -ooZ
Lynn Claughton
4309 Meridian Ave N
Marysville WA 98271
Subject: 1502 Pine Ave / field review report
Mr. Claughton,
Thank you for inviting me to review your work progress on Friday the 13th of May, 2011. It's
clear that you have made significant progress in roof removals in order to meet the lot coverage
allowances as noted in the hearing examiner's decision.
Based on our review, the total square feet removed thus far is 450. With the additional
removal of the north portion of the accessory building (approximately 60 square ft), you will
have completed the removal of at least 476 square feet specified in the order.
As specified in the order, the north portion of the building directly adjacent to the alley must be
removed flush with accessory building. I've reviewed your request to provide an extension into
the area to allow for a man-door. In general, porches are not allowed on an extension into the
side yard as they are in the front yard. Therefore, we will need to adhere to the order by
removal of all the building in this area. However, as I have indicated, you will be allowed to
have a fence in this area.
Additionally during my visit, I observed that the deck structure has been sufficiently removed in
order to meet the order. It may be necessary to add a railing to the end of the deck depending
on what your future use and ideas for the structure are.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. I appreciate all your hard work. If you have
questions, please give me a call.
Sincerely,
_rrkrooks
cc: Tony Lee, building
Gerry Ervine, planning
Kevin Fagerstrom, code
CITY OF EVERETT v 3200 Cedar Street e Everett, WA 98201 (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
