Everett River Front-Simpson Report: 027
GeoDesign#: Polygon-127-03 Date: 02/03/2017
Reports with Unresolved Nonconformance Issues: Permit:
P W 1505-005
— I)
Nick Abdelnour(Polygon) Randy Allen(City of Everett) Weather: Light Snow, 30's
Ron Bowen(Polygon) Eddy Stevens(Polygon) Arrival/Departure: 0830/0900
Distribution:
—------- _.__—
— - — --—
Doug Ross(Polygon) Kirk Keck(City of Everett)
Paul McKee(City of Everett) Dave Foster(City of Everett) Prepared By: Ben Weinberg
m Site Plan(s) m Density Test Summary Signature: _ :-1✓
Attachments: Installation Records ❑ Other Reviewed By: 7Z
PURPOSE of VISIT: GeoDesign representative, Ben Weinberg, was on-site part time at the request of John Feltner with
Polygon to observe the foundation subgrade for Lots 142 and 143.
SUMMARY of OBSERVATIONS:
Lot 142:
Previously, GeoDesign observed the over-excavation of an area in the northwest corner down to firm and unyielding
material. Today, GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation subcontractor had placed a layer of non-woven geotextile
material and backfilled the area with a 2-4 inch recycled concrete material which was compacted into a firm and unyielding
mass. Relative compaction of the exposed subgrade material for the rest of the footing area was tested using a Troxler
Moisture-Density gauge; in-place density tests indicated that the exposed subgrade material had been compacted to
greater than 95%of its maximum dry density as determined by a Modified Proctor analysis.
It is the opinion of GeoDesign that the footing subgrade area observed today is currently suitable for support of the intended
load. GeoDesign recommends that any surficially loose and saturated material which may build up be removed from the
base of the footing area prior to the placement of concrete.
Lot 143:
Previously, GeoDesign observed the over-excavation of an area on the west 1/3 of Lot 143 down to firm and unyielding
material. Today, GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation subcontractor had placed a layer of non-woven geotextile
material and backfilled the area with a 2-4 inch recycled concrete material which was compacted into a firm and unyielding
mass.
