WHEREAS, THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL FINDS: <br /> 1. The purpose for the requested Comprehensive Plan land use map amendment and rezone <br /> is to achieve a more appropriate zone district for the current and adjacent land uses; and <br /> 2. The proposal has been found to meet Locational Criteria and policies of the Land Use <br /> section of the Comprehensive Plan; and <br /> 3. To achieve the proposed land use policy and zone the City needs to amend the <br /> Comprehensive Plan map designation from 2.1 (Schools/Churches) to 5.3 (Light Industry) and <br /> rezone the site from RS (Suburban Residential) To M-M (Office Park); and <br /> WHEREAS CITY COUNCIL CONCLUDES: <br /> 1. The public health safety and welfare would be provided for by the proposal under <br /> existing development regulations of the City; and, <br /> 2. The proposed amendment to the land use map and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> 3. The approval as requested does not constitute a grant of special privilege to the proponent. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Approval of Comprehensive Plan amendment. Ordinance No. 2021-94, as <br /> amended, is hereby amended as follows: <br /> 1. The Comprehensive Plan map designation is hereby amended for the subject property from <br /> 2.1 (Schools/Churches) to 5.3 (Light Industry) (Exhibit A). <br /> Section 2: Approval of Rezone: Section 2.020 of Ordinance No. 1671-89, as amended <br /> (EMC 19.02.020) is hereby amended as follows: <br /> 1. The zoning of the site is rezoned from RS (Suburban Residential) To M-M (Office Park), <br /> (Exhibit B), see site and affected parcel legal descriptions at Exhibit C. <br /> Section 3: Conditions of Approval <br /> 1. The Planning Department is instructed to amend the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning maps to <br /> reflect the herein enacted Comprehensive Plan map amendments, zone change. <br /> 4. Exhibits A, B, and C are hereby made part of this approval and incorporated herein by <br /> reference. <br /> Section 4: The legal description of the area affected by this action is: <br /> See legal description at Exhibit C <br /> - 2 - <br />
