The structure is exempt from building permits because it is less than 200 sq ft in size for which the building code allows without the usual permit requirements . The structures location is another matter. The shed is encroaching into the required side and rear setbacks and is in violation of the city of Everett zoning codes. For this reason I have posted a placard on the building declaring that the structure is unlawful. The department responsible for the enforcement of this violation is the Planning Department. I have referred your concern and the violation to one of the city planners for follow up action. Regards. Early last week I reported to your office regarding to the next door home owner, at 8915 91h Ave SE Everett, WA 98208, built a shed of their property that was against the building code,the Development Standard, where the set back on the North side was about 15" to 18" from the property line.
